Talking with you at work it finally dawned on me. I've devoted all of my energy to creating an emotional barrier and now I've done it. Standing behind the counter, the rift could have spanned continents. I felt like I was shouting nonsense at you from across a river. I know I'm speaking, but on the other side it's warped and inaudible.
